OGDEN, Utah –The Weber State University Women’s Center will host a series of workshops specifically aimed at offering support, education and resources to single mothers.
The workshop series, “Single Moms United,” will be held on consecutive Wednesdays beginning Jan. 13 and continuing through March 3. Classes will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Shepherd Union room 331.
Topics will include relationship adjustment, dating safety, parenting and goal setting, as well as additional information and resources to help single mothers gain emotional and financial stability.
“The goal for Single Moms United is to reach out to single mothers on campus and the community and provide them with educational resources and a support network of other single mothers,” said Sarah Stanton, Women’s Center counselor advocate. “We’re going to tackle topics that are most relevant to the struggles and challenges that single moms face.”
The workshop, including materials, is free of charge and open to single mothers on campus and throughout the community.
