Changes at our house

Our sister/Aunt has found a place of her own nearby and so I have been able to redecorate the family room after she moved out. I have a knack of finding good things to decorate with on a budget, so here is some of my finds. I started out with finding a sofa sleeper and loveseat for $450 total. I love using the classifed adds on ksl.com! It is where I've found many great things and have sold old furniture. Now, back to the furniture, since I had some colors to build on, I found some mismatched paint at Walmart for about $8. Then I added the wall hangings that my mom gave me for Christmas that say "love, home and family". The black wall shelf I found at DI for $4 and it was originally white. I bought black paint and painted it!

Next, Sampson is in the same room but along the opposite wall. I hung my picture of Christ there and found a coat rack at DI for $5. I took out the middle section of the rack so that kids can hang their coats up easier. The piano also found a new home on a different wall in the room. The chess set is sitting on our "antique" piano bench that really needs to be refinished! I'm going to assume that Tyler won that game of Chess!

Then, I found this entertainment center for FREE on the ksl.com site. I regularly check the free section since many people don't want the hastle of loading their unwanted big items and taking them to DI (deseret industries). Okay, and since I am bearing my hidden talent of scavenging- I picked up the swag above the entertainment center for $4 at DI. Notice the small white piece of paper on the T.V. It is hiding the power button so that Dallin won't turn it off! I know, I hate the white wall and want to paint it some other color.

The last picture is of our kitchen table and chairs. The table has two leaves that aren't shown and I picked it up two years ago for $100 (also a ksl find). Recently, I found the six black painted windsor chairs for $60 total (ksl). I loved finding these chairs since I was going to find used chairs at DI and paint them black anyway. So, you now know my cheap way of decorating!
